Civil War Weekend
activities and presentations for Civil War enthusiasts
In 1991, the Virginia Tech Alumni Association and the university's Division of Continuing Education collaborated with Dr. James I. Robertson Jr., Virginia Tech's nationally renowned Civil War historian, to schedule a weekend of activities geared to Civil War enthusiasts.

Each year since—typically during the second weekend in March— participants gather to hear presentations by Civil War authorities and to browse books by noted Civil War historians.

The 20th annual Civil War Weekend to be held March 11-13, 2011, at The Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center in downtown Roanoke, Va., promises to be a special occasion. Based on past events, a record enrollment of university alumni, friends, and Civil War buffs from across the country is anticipated.

Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

For more information or to register online, visit, or contact the Conference Registrar at 540-231-5182.
